After a rather tough play, Thoona's Anthony Mcmillan got a free kick in the 5th minute. After 12 played minutes Thoona got a freekick which was hit by Biddle Beer. Petre Dimofte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Angelo Callaghan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angelo Callaghan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 24 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Huff came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Marcus Huff threw the ball into play from the sideline. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 32nd minute, Angelo Callaghan made a precise shot to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Thoona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Callaghan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paraguay's Xavier Zoido quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Burns Pegrum, made in the 41st minute of the game. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcus Huff in the 47 minute of the game. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Thoona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biddle Beer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Thoona were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Angelo Callaghan made the kick off in the second half. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Marcus Huff in the 62nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Paraguay's Ivan Prats. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Callaghan in the 64th minute of play. Marcus Huff kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Paraguay's Iker Tafalla seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iker Tafalla the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Paraguay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iker Tafalla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Angelo Callaghan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. Jacobo Nores made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Callaghan in the 86th minute. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Angelo Callaghan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. Angelo Callaghan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. After 96 minutes, Primitivo Escribano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the Thoona players grew even worse after the yellow card. Primitivo Escribano hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The Thoona supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Thoona would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
