Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. FC MCM's Călin Prunaru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save FC MCM from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viktor Axelsson in the 11th minute of play. In the 16th minute Gavril Mangra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 19 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Călin Prunaru was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Adrian Isbășoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Axelsson in the 27th minute of play. FC MCM's Călin Prunaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 35th minute of play. If Gavril Mangra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Andino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 39th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Primitivo Andino put in a rough tackle. In the 40th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC MCM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavril Mangra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cătălin Agulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viktor Axelsson to make the kick off. Viktor Axelsson in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Călin Prunaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Călin Prunaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute of play. Călin Prunaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. FC MCM made a substitution. Vali Cârnu replaced Cătălin Agulescu. In the 75th minute of the match FC MCM got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristi Maniu ran over to the corner to take the kick. FC MCM's Călin Prunaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, FC MCM's Adrian Isbășoiu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. After some careless play in the FC MCM defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Călin Prunaru. The FC MCM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Călin Prunaru should have stopped the shot.
