Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an all-out effort, Sabalero's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gürel Zeyni, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Emilio Bibiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Sabalero's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Emilio Bibiano quite easily take care of the ball. In the 32ndth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sabalero's Emilio Bibiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emilio Bibiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilio Bibiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Marino in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute Sabalero were awarded a corner. Honorio Stephen went to the cornerflag to take it. Honorio Stephen made a great header on Sabalero's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Emilio Bibiano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Sabalero's Afonso Esparteiro got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gürel Zeyni in the 58th minute of the match. After 69 minutes of play, Sabalero's Luisito Marino made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 71st match minute, Sabalero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaias Abad to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gürel Zeyni struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sabalero. 78 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emilio Bibiano, 1-2. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emilio Bibiano. That made the score 1-3 after 88 minutes of play. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Venezuela eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
