Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Francisco Seco took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Keiran Grantham who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Keiran Grantham almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. The supporters of Elstree Town booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute of the match Keiran Grantham shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gareth Child who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Robson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gareth Child's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Robson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gareth Child might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gareth Child ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Elstree Town's Gareth Child sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jaime Cazalla struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Peter Robson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Peter Robson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gareth Child received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 41st match minute, Elstree Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keiran Grantham to maneuver through the defense. Uruguay were furious when Kevin Carballal was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 44 minutes into the game, one of Uruguay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gareth Child shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gareth Child stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Johnson in the 51st minute of play. If Andrew Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Gareth Child kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bortzaioriz Sancha in the 63rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elstree Town made a substitution. Tyler Kennedy replaced Keiran Grantham. Ryan Lambley kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gareth Child in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Robson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Elstree Town's Peter Robson got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute Gareth Child shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 88 in the game by Francisco Seco from a close distance when the talented Peter Robson managed to make a qualified save. Elstree Town's players were relieved.
