Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Gaúcho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Wellington Pires kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Hudson Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Sócrates Silva scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 2-1. With an all-out effort, Austra 04 VFC's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ivar Dalman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Wellington Pires made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sócrates Silva in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sócrates Silva in the 63rd minute of the match. A collision led to Austra 04 VFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Zachary Madej hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute, Zachary Madej hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Beila Mora came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beila Mora in the 77th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Pollard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luca Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hudson Gaúcho came out and tried to block the shot, but Luca Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 85th minute. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Ahmet Erdem Zekai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mexico players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Austra 04 VFC.
