In the 36th minute Doğaner Geylan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edgard Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Osmar de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgard Cabral in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ferdi Kargin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ferdi Kargin came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral. But to his dismay, Edgard Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Mustafa Kemal Oncu's late challenge caught a Goiás Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Kemal Oncu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Çanakkale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Kemal Oncu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílton do Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amílton do Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Amílton do Nascimento hit a great ball. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Deput in the 65th minute of play. Mané Quirino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Doğaner Geylan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 67 minute of play. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doğaner Geylan in the 71st minute of the match. When Çanakkale's Fabian Deput in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goiás Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Çanakkale's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by İsmail Cem Eroğlu in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdi Kargin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdi Kargin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Ferdi Kargin came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiás Esporte Clube's Osmar de Moraes. But to his dismay, Osmar de Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1.
