Angelino Helguera came out of the goal and Serafim Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angelino Helguera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandrinho Vides's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. The supporters of Real Còrdoba FC booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandrinho Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelino Bartolome in the 14th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Claudio-Di-Domenico Echeverri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Berart came free, but Mané Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Berart in the 19th minute of the match. When Edgard Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Cabral couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Real Còrdoba FC's goalkeeper Angelino Helguera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Cabral. After having played for 28 minutes, Arsenio Bento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Còrdoba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arsenio Bento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leopoldo Berart took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mané Quirino. Mané Quirino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Bartolome in the 33rd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Real Còrdoba FC's Marcelino Bartolome nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mané Quirino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Edgard Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelino Helguera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgard Cabral in the 40th minute. Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Bento in the 42nd minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgard Cabral was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Leopoldo Berart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Brito to maneuver through the defense. Leopoldo Berart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Mané Quirino made a huge save. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Real Còrdoba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomi Akad didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Sandrinho Vides hit a great ball. Real Còrdoba FC's Angelino Helguera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Cabral in the 71st minute of play. With a little luck, Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino got control of the ball when Claudio-Di-Domenico Echeverri tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgard Cabral in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Helguera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio-Di-Domenico Echeverri in the 87th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Mané Quirino managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Real Còrdoba FC's Leopoldo Berart fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Real Còrdoba FC played a much better game than Goiás Esporte Clube and deserved their victory. The Goiás Esporte Clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
