The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fernando Portela kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Çanakkale's Ferdi Kargin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Çanakkale from getting a goal against them. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Apelkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ferdi Kargin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Branco in the 74th minute of the match. İsmail Cem Eroğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Castanheira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Doğaner Geylan went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 83rd minute, Çanakkale's John Apelkvist ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Afonso Castanheira. Afonso Castanheira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. After some careless play in the AD Pontassolense defense, Doğaner Geylan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonso Castanheira. The AD Pontassolense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Castanheira should have stopped the shot. The Çanakkale supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Çanakkale would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
