Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Fred Kariuki made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Kariuki in the 5th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Leakey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute Fred Kariuki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthew Korir hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Kariuki in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Fred Kariuki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jonathan Onyii had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Fred Kariuki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Annscroft fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Kariuki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th match minute, Annscroft was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Kush to maneuver through the defense. Paul Leakey kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Fred Rutto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Alan Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Annscroft booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Fred Kariuki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The audience was convinced that Fred Kariuki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 63rd minute Annscroft were awarded a corner. Haroun Korir went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Haroun Korir almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. Annscroft's Abdallah Ali Maina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Annscroft from getting a goal against them. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdallah Ali Maina having to interfere. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Annscroft's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Rutto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Rutto, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Annscroft fully deserved thier win.
