Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes in the game Ben Zehnder did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Florian Plouffe. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florian Plouffe in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 11th play minute Florian Plouffe came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. 1-0. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Marcellus Walpert hit a great ball. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Olympique Fribourg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. A throw-in in the 19th minute of the game was made by Ben Zehnder with Remo Pürro as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olympique Fribourg's Tristan Arioli did a great save. Tristan Arioli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florian Plouffe. Remo Pürro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 36 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristan Arioli having to interfere. In the 42nd minute of the game Ben Zehnder made a throw-in which Marcellus Walpert played forward. When Matt Metzger fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Fribourg's protests and gave Matt Metzger a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 played minutes Olympique Fribourg got a freekick which was hit by Matt Metzger. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Plouffe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tristan Arioli, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florian Plouffe in the 78th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Plouffe in the 81st minute of play. In the 89th minute, Raik Topuz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florian Plouffe went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score.
