Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Matt Metzger hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tristan Arioli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristan Arioli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Marcellus Walpert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristan Arioli having to interfere. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olympique Fribourg's goalie prevented a goal. Tristan Arioli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tristan Arioli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Raik Topuz hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Raik Topuz came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Olympique Fribourg were awarded a corner. Daniel Schroeder went to the cornerflag to take it. Bruno Steiner was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Tristan Arioli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tristan Arioli. Tristan Arioli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 45th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florian Plouffe to strike the kick off in the second half. Raik Topuz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tristan Arioli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Tristan Arioli was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 75 minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Tristan Arioli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Omar Bünder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tristan Arioli firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 88th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Agustín Saelices to fire away a dangerous shot which Tristan Arioli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Olympique Fribourg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Metzger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tristan Arioli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
