Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Palmeiras's Luke Clist started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Donato came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 7 minutes, Luke Clist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luke Clist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ghenadie Furdui made in the 10th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Clist in the 14th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós. Régis de Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Iustin Bungeanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Iustin Bungeanu hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. After 33 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tarcisio Reis who took care of the corner kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Palmeiras's Kléberson Neiva slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Noboa. That made the score 1-1 after 33 minutes of play. Leonardo Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. 48 minutes into the game, Palmeiras's Luke Clist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ghenadie Furdui to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palmeiras made a substitution. José Carlos Simões replaced Iustin Bungeanu. Leonardo Donato took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Donato in the 77th minute of the match. Régis de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 80th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Ghenadie Furdui in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 84 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Régis de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdir Lopes hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Eliseo Mina took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Régis de Queirós. Palmeiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 89th minute, Tarcisio Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luke Clist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Gallo in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Régis de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute of play. Anthony Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carlos Simões in the 98th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palmeiras.
