Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Angus Howison came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 minutes, Darius Bontine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rangers FC and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darius Bontine to maneuver through the defense. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 19th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Danny Gilespie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danny Gilespie to make the kick off. Rangers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyler McCraw didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Bradley Carr in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Raul Venegas. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Danny Gilespie's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Primitivo Escribano scored 2-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fergus Fairbairn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacobo Nores made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danny Gilespie in the 83rd minute. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 87th minute of play. Connor Alsop made in the 95th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Angus Howison immediately put the ball in play. There was no doubt that Paraguay were the better team. Paraguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
