An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Olof Kielstedt in the 7th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Jan Koller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Algot Skröder in the 15th minute of play. In the 20thth minute of the game Sven-Olof Kielstedt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a FC Momlinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sven-Olof Kielstedt made a kick off. Jan Koller scored 0-3 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the game, Jan Koller recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Jan Koller showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. When Lautaro Puig fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Lautaro Puig a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute Sven-Olof Kielstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Jan Koller made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Abo Bakr managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Momlinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Abo Bakr was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Koller in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The supporters of FC Momlinho booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded FC Momlinho left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
