A well-hit corner resulted in Valmir Starova heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 played minutes Deportivo Pergamino got a freekick which was hit by Valmir Starova. The supporters of Deportivo Pergamino booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Carolo Jerardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Roberto Bonano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Pergamino's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Bonano came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Bonano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Pergamino's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Bonano came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nunez Oroitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Oroitz in the 25th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Roberto Bonano made a huge save. Anthony Tiberio kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pergamino's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Roberto Bonano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kang Li in the 41st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Roberto Bonano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Carolo Jerardo put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After the first half Deportivo Pergamino were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Deportivo Pergamino booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Kang Li fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Julio Vera, passed just outside the right post. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nunez Oroitz. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deportivo Pergamino made a substitution. Baltasar Santio replaced Kang Li. Carolo Jerardo in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Valmir Starova hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Carolo Jerardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Carolo Jerardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carolo Jerardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 90th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Bonano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Pergamino's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Baltasar Santio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Roberto Bonano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
