Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 4 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A throw-in in the 6th minute of the game was made by Primitivo Andino with Felix Montenegro as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Capdevilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Berdoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Miguel Diagur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Pastor Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Diagur. After 24 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adolfo Dolfo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Capdevilla's corner Hector Berdoi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Maju came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Diagur in the 30th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Pastor Valery didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 60 played minutes Capdevilla got a freekick which was hit by Hilario Domeka. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Miguel Diagur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Miguel Diagur struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capdevilla. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 82 minutes of play, Capdevilla's Miguel Diagur made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 85 minutes into the match, Capdevilla's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Pastor Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Omar Maju managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capdevilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Maju was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Diagur in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luis Andino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Pastor Valery made a huge save. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Capdevilla had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
