After some careless play in the CACYFA defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luis Quirce. The CACYFA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luis Quirce should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Luis Quirce made a huge save. 23 minutes into the match, CACYFA's Gaspar Dunixi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luis Quirce firmly grabbed it by the left post. Luis Quirce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaspar Dunixi, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaspar Dunixi in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Primitivo Andino's late challenge caught a CACYFA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Primitivo Andino helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gaspar Dunixi made the kick off in the second half. Luis Quirce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaspar Dunixi in the 58th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaspar Dunixi in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho scored 3-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luis Quirce, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Quirce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CACYFA's Safet Jovanović was substituted for Adolfo Jorrin. CACYFA's Adrian Czornomaz was substituted for Gaspar Dunixi. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After having played for 89 minutes, Adrian Czornomaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CACYFA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Czornomaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. CACYFA's attentive Safet Jovanović managed to snatch the ball when Primitivo Andino made a throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game. Emil Tomasson hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
