After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alve Søderholm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Marcovecchio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Marcovecchio's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alve Søderholm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszek Zawadzki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alve Søderholm was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Legia Warszawa SA's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alve Søderholm came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Marcovecchio took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Naujasodis in the 60th minute of play. With a little luck, Legia Warszawa SA's Alve Søderholm got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zbyszek Zawadzki kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alve Søderholm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Legia Warszawa SA getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Stanislaw Klawki hit a great ball. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
