The audience was convinced that Necati Temizalp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Kasım Okanalp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 15 played minutes ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Pazura. Kasım Okanalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 23rd minute of play. When Vecdet Koçyiğit came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vecdet Koçyiğit couldn't finish the play. Kevin Carballal kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Dong Cheng Si tried to sneak it across the goal line. After taking down the ball on ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ's corner Dorinel Munteanu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. Dong Cheng Sis short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Joaquin Gayoso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 37 minutes ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Cazalla who took care of the corner kick. Maximiliano Escribano scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kasım Okanalp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dong Cheng Si in the 44th minute. After the first half Uruguay were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dong Cheng Si was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Yu Jun Xing ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 55th minute Dong Cheng Si shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Escribano got free with Kasım Okanalp in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Dong Cheng Si came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ fans jumped to their feet. Camilo Covarrubias was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 78 minutes into the match. The referee gave ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dorinel Munteanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. 2-2. With a little luck, ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ's Kasım Okanalp got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dong Cheng Si recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Uruguay booed when ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Calvino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing ÇORUM SPOR KULÜBÜ to leave the ground with a draw.
