When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Daniel Zorita sped through Navalito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Soriano Espiñeira. In the 12th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Navalito getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Eros Villamayor hit a great ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Parra's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soriano Espiñeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Navalito's Soriano Espiñeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Soriano Espiñeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Nicanor Parra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Navalito's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicanor Parra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Soriano Espiñeira saved Navalito from getting behind. Faustino Huaiquiman kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Soriano Espiñeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Daniel Zorita sped through Navalito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Soriano Espiñeira. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicanor Parra to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Nicanor Parra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Parra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Navalito's Soriano Espiñeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Julio Vera had in the 60thth minute some difficulties stopping Nicanor Parra's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Soriano Espiñeira in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Soriano Espiñeira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 68 minutes into the match, Navalito's Isidoro Young sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Primitivo Andino threw the ball into play from the sideline. Navalito's Carlos Gustavo Caicedo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 78th minute, Agustín Saelices reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Soriano Espiñeira. The goal made the score 1-3. In the 81st minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Soriano Espiñeira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 83 minutes into the game, Navalito's Isidoro Young nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Soriano Espiñeira made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, Navalito's goalkeeper Soriano Espiñeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soriano Espiñeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Isidoro Young took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
