Soriano Espiñeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. When Nicanor Parra came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Navalito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicanor Parra couldn't finish the play. After having played for 18 minutes, Nicanor Parra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Navalito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicanor Parra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Soriano Espiñeira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. Nicanor Parra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Parra, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Soriano Espiñeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of the match. Nicanor Parra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nicanor Parra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amanda Björn got free with Julio Vera in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Navalito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eros Villamayor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoro Young might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isidoro Young ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Isidoro Young sent off a good shot on target. Soriano Espiñeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 78th minute of the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Young in the 82nd minute. In the 92ndth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Navalito's Soriano Espiñeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soriano Espiñeira having to interfere.
