Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Gilespie in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Romon Oliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron McLeish in the 27th minute of play. Stevie McGilvray struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Demonde Jacobson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rangers FC. 33 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Gilespie came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Danny Gilespie to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Jamaica's zone, Stevie McGilvray stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Demonde Jacobson came out of the goal and Stevie McGilvray tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Jamaall Padmore. 63 minutes into the game, Romon Oliver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jamaica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rangers FC the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Romon Oliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angus Howison in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Demonde Jacobson saved Jamaica from getting behind. With a little luck, Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson got control of the ball when Tim Charles tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Stevie McGilvray managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rangers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stevie McGilvray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ronan McLaws fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Ronan McLaws a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Ronan McLaws. With an all-out effort, Rangers FC's Demonde Jacobson threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stevie McGilvray, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Danny Gilespie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Demonde Jacobson made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bradley Carr got free with Demonde Jacobson in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 87 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Tim Charles. The Jamaica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rangers FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
