Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Roland Szigeti started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. In the 5th match minute, Gelse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tamás Benedek to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Gelse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tamás Gellért didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lajos Bíró narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lajos Bíró took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tivadar Karsai kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. When Axel Tasis came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Tasis couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 38 played minutes Gelse got a freekick which was hit by Roland Szigeti. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Gelse booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lajos Bíró showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 66th minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Lajos Bíró tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Roland Szigeti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gelse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Gelse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Szigeti didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Gelse getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Zoltán Huszti hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lajos Bíró saved Gelse from getting behind. Efrain Moruga made in the 88th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eliseo Noboa however managed to control. After having played for 91 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Costa Rica fully deserved thier win.
