He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ernesto Guevara SyD reached it. In the 16th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the match Marcos Tirso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Ernesto Guevara SyD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Enzo Rodriguez skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Bernat in the 24th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27thth minute of the game Beto Almada who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ernesto Guevara SyD's Enzo Rodriguez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ernesto Guevara SyD from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Almada in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enzo Rodriguez having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Almada came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Almada in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Rodriguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lionel Richie in the 78th minute of play. Ernesto Guevara SyD's Enzo Rodriguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Enzo Rodriguez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 0-1 became the score in the 86th minute when Lionel Richie elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 95th minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
