In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ernesto Guevara SyD defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enzo Rodriguez. The Ernesto Guevara SyD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enzo Rodriguez should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes into the match, Ernesto Guevara SyD's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Enzo Rodriguez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Marcos Tirso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enzo Rodriguez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Enzo Rodriguez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 39th minute Marcos Tirso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico's Facundo Cadaval quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Beto Almada, made in the 45th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 47th minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beto Almada made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Enzo Rodriguez in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enzo Rodriguez made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Enzo Rodriguez firmly grabbed it by the left post. 55 minutes into the match, Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. The supporters of Mexico booed when Ernesto Guevara SyD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Rodriguez in the 73rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enzo Rodriguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pascual Bernat went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Enzo Rodriguez made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. 88 minutes into the match, Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Tirso in the 91st minute of the match. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lionel Richie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
