The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zoltán Tímár during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th minute, Zoltán Tímár hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute György Gömöri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of El Salvador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gelse:s goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Károly Pölöskei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gelse's supporters crossed their fingers, but Károly Pölöskei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44thth minute of the game Ferenc Fülöp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 45 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Yepes. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 86th minute Zoltán Huszti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If György Gömöri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Zorita was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ferenc Fülöp showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 90 minute of play. The supporters of Gelse booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, György Gömöri fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ricardo Zorita, passed just outside the right post. Ferenc Fülöp didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-6 via right post in the game's 96th minute. Gelse's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! When the final whistle sounded Gelse left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than El Salvador.
