In the 5th minute, Aírton Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nelsinho Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The long shot by 康渊霆 in the 15th minute really tested Dante Lacasa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Vascogoianiense FC's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aírton Sousa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Aírton Sousa put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dante Lacasa. Nelsinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 23rd minute of the match. Vascogoianiense FC were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aírton Sousa took the corner. The corner ended in Aírton Sousa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. 30 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona threw the ball into play from the sideline. Vascogoianiense FC's Matheus Neto quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 32nd minute of play. In the 37th minute Gilmar Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Pirani was the one to do the kick off. Nelsinho Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 61stth minute. Though ot was a great shot Vascogoianiense FC's keeper Nelsinho Leite was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vascogoianiense FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nelsinho Leite quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 64 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luca Zorita. Nelsinho Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 83rd minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Luca Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vascogoianiense FC the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. If João Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great ball. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vascogoianiense FC throughout the match.
