Szentgotthárd's Attila Saághy managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hugo Ferrant in the 13 minute of the game. A very good chance. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihály Gera having to interfere. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Szentgotthárd's Tamás Edelényi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Puig in the 39th minute of play forced Szentgotthárd's goalkeeper Mihály Gera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Szentgotthárd's Mihály Gera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute of the game Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in which Lautaro Puig played forward. Hugo Ferrant made in the 46th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Alan Moruga immediately put the ball in play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Szentgotthárd's Márton Fehér. Hugo Ferrant made in the 55th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Szentgotthárd's Gábor Sebestyén. Szentgotthárd's Tamás Edelényi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hugo Ferrant in the 56 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bálint Sándor in the 57th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márton Fehér, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 69th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihály Gera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. During the 77th minute of the match Eliseo Noboa completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Eliseo Noboa a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 80th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Szentgotthárd's Márton Fehér. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Bálint Sándor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 85th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihály Gera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Szentgotthárd had played much better football throughout.
