Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Bálint Sándor started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mihály Gera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A throw-in in the 12th minute of the game was made by Efrain Moruga with Eliseo Noboa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. A sloppy throw-in by Efrain Moruga in the 14th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Szentgotthárd's Márton Fehér. 15 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Szentgotthárd's Márton Fehér quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Bálint Sándor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Szentgotthárd's Márton Fehér managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Abel Carballo in the 20 minute of the game. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Bálint Sándor fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szentgotthárd's protests and gave Bálint Sándor a yellow card for diving instead. Bálint Sándor kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Attila Saághy's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Attila Saághy helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, Szentgotthárd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignác Sinkó to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute of the match Axel Tasis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihály Gera skillfully saved the ball. In the 38th minute, Bálint Sándor reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihály Gera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mihály Gera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Noboa went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. In the 58th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Szentgotthárd's attentive Attila Saághy managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant threw the ball into play from the sideline. Szentgotthárd's Attila Saághy quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Szentgotthárd's Tamás Edelényi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Juan Rubio, made in the 79th minute of the game. Bálint Sándor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
