Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zarando Lastras having to make a save. Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Maravilla from getting a goal against them. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarando Lastras having to interfere. Zarando Lastras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Gaona's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Atlético Maravilla's goalkeeper Zarando Lastras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luca Zorita. 16 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Hidalgo came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mexico booed when Atlético Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anders Söderlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 20th minute of play forced Atlético Maravilla's goalkeeper Zarando Lastras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Atlético Maravilla's Quentin Gonzalez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Zarando Lastras had great luck who in the 27thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joel Gaona from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zarando Lastras saved Atlético Maravilla from getting behind. Zarando Lastras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes Atlético Maravilla's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Mexico's Luca Rouco to fire away a dangerous shot which Zarando Lastras despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atlético Maravilla's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras did a great save. When Atlético Maravilla's Quentin Gonzalez in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After taking down the ball on Atlético Maravilla's corner Anders Söderlund fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dante Lacasa quite easily take care of the ball.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zarando Lastras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 58th minute of play. Zarando Lastras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 64th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Atlético Maravilla defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarando Lastras. The Atlético Maravilla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarando Lastras should have stopped the shot. Joel Gaona scored 2-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zarando Lastras, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Atlético Maravilla made a substitution. Shawn Seracino Inglott replaced Dionisio Hidalgo. In the 73rd match minute, Atlético Maravilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dionisio Hidalgo to maneuver through the defense. Zarando Lastras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo de Queiroz in the 83rd minute. In the 85th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla pulled a muscle in his leg after 85 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shawn Seracino Inglott during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atlético Maravilla's Shawn Seracino Inglott got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, Shawn Seracino Inglott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 94th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Atlético Maravilla players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mexico.
