Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Rangers FC's Danny Gilespie started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Darius Bontine hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Rangers FC's Ronan McLaws tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fergus Fairbairn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Rangers FC's Danny Gilespie. But to his dismay, Danny Gilespie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Fairbairn having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Moises Fernandino made a precise shot to the right of Fergus Fairbairn. Rangers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 2-2 became the score in the 28th minute when Danny Gilespie elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Danny Gilespie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game was made by Tyler McCraw with Bradley Carr as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Rangers FC's Fergus Fairbairn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Rangers FC from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fergus Fairbairn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Danny Gilespie sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a Rangers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Tamayo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Mateo Leguizamo hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ronan McLaws. Gary Gowan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Moises Fernandino scored 4-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fergus Fairbairn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ron McLeish hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Fergus Fairbairn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rangers FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for El Salvador.
