Anibal Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute Arturo Rivera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Anibal Cordoba in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th match minute, Juantxis Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsen Levidze to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Juantxis Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Anibal Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Juantxis Futbol Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. In the 20th minute, Facundo Cadaval fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Mexico booed when Juantxis Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paco Incera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anibal Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 30th minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Anibal Cordoba firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 34th minute. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Playo Urruti, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Playo Urruti notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Mancebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anibal Cordoba. That made the score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Anibal Cordoba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Playo Urruti in the 59th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute Arturo Rivera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juantxis Futbol Club made a substitution. Carolo Canyelles replaced Agamenón Vega. Juantxis Futbol Club's Guillermo Santiago was substituted for Ponc Roig. 77 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anibal Cordoba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juantxis Futbol Club's goalkeeper Anibal Cordoba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Guillermo Santiago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guillermo Santiago's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Santiago helped the player get up and apologised. Guillermo Santiago hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Playo Urruti in the 87th minute of play. During the 90th minute of the match Guillermo Santiago completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Guillermo Santiago a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Seco in the 93rd minute of play forced Juantxis Futbol Club's goalkeeper Anibal Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
