The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Raul Brandao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cheito Mota charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cheito Mota the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Raul Brandao, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of play forced ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Raul Brandao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Brandao having to interfere.
