Uruguay's players were relieved. 10 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Archie Greenwood. Basil Gilroy's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basil Gilroy helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Kentucky Fried Wings got a freekick which was hit by Basil Gilroy. In the 20th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Sainz to maneuver through the defense. In the 22ndth minute of the game Archie Greenwood who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eric Statham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Maximiliano Escribano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tomislav Strahija was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kentucky Fried Wings's goalkeeper Tomislav Strahija, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Archie Greenwood kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. After 44 played minutes Kentucky Fried Wings got a freekick which was hit by Johnathon Cookson. In the 47th minute, Eric Statham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Archie Greenwood was the one to do the kick off. Francisco Seco hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute, Archie Greenwood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Archie Greenwood, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Tomislav Strahija made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Maximiliano Escribano sent off a good shot on target. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Archie Greenwood in the 60th minute of the match. Mateo Garrido struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Tomislav Strahija didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. 67 minutes into the game, Archie Greenwood cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 69 minutes into the game, Kentucky Fried Wings's Archie Greenwood nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 75 minutes into the match, Kentucky Fried Wings's Eric Statham sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomislav Strahija made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Kentucky Fried Wings made a substitution. Son van Basten replaced Archie Greenwood. Kentucky Fried Wings's Mao Hong Kuan was substituted for Grant Tindale. 85 minutes into the match, Kentucky Fried Wings's goalkeeper Tomislav Strahija had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. If Eric Statham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th match minute, Kentucky Fried Wings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Trueman to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Son van Basten came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Kentucky Fried Wings booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uruguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kentucky Fried Wings.
