Hugh Branston's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugh Branston helped the player get up and apologised. Hugh Branston kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Archie Greenwood might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Archie Greenwood ran back to his position shaking his head. Kentucky Fried Wings's attentive Hugh Branston managed to snatch the ball when Primitivo Andino made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. After 25 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Grant Tindale who took care of the corner kick. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Tomislav Strahija didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Tomislav Strahija made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play. Tomislav Strahija showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 31st minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After 34 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomislav Strahija was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Archie Greenwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 45th match minute, Kentucky Fried Wings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basil Gilroy to maneuver through the defense. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomislav Strahija having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Archie Greenwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jimmy Brumfitt charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. It was a penalty for Kentucky Fried Wings! When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tomislav Strahija. The supporters of Kentucky Fried Wings booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Son van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
