The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Berthold Bach in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torsten Henning in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ghitã Pârlea who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Ghitã Pârlea got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to SV Klingsmoos getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ghitã Pârlea hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Berthold Bach prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Richard Nixon scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Colombia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SV Klingsmoos were winning 0-3.

Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Anselmo Valentine capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
