Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herminio Iztal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Herminio Iztal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Conrad Furesi struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Odeweg FSV. Eckehard Deckert took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Conrad Furesi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Odeweg FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrad Furesi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eckehard Deckert in the 19th minute. After 26 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. In the 28th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herminio Iztal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play. Eckehard Deckert hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Herminio Iztal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eckehard Deckert was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Eckehard Deckert put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 56th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Odeweg FSV getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Timo Böhm hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Herminio Iztal. Herminio Iztal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. If Timo Böhm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrad Furesi in the 72nd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Eckehard Deckert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eckehard Deckert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edward Kalnik during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Odeweg FSV from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute of play forced Odeweg FSV's goalkeeper Herminio Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Fredy Brusberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Odeweg FSV's goalkeeper Herminio Iztal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 85th minute Guillermo Mariano suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 85 minutes into the game, Conrad Furesi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Odeweg FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Venezuela's Guillermo Espina was substituted for Guillermo Mariano. After 87 played minutes Odeweg FSV got a freekick which was hit by Conrad Furesi. Eckehard Deckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fredy Brusberg made in the 93rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Takeshi Schreiber. When the referee ended the match the Odeweg FSV players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
