Takeshi Schreiber made in the 3rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eckehard Deckert however managed to control. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrad Furesi in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play. Conrad Furesi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrad Furesi in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eckehard Deckert. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herminio Iztal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of the match. During the 40th minute of the match Fredy Brusberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fredy Brusberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Odeweg FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredy Brusberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Eckehard Deckert made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Herminio Iztal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Eckehard Deckert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eckehard Deckert in the 63rd minute of play. Herminio Iztal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Timo Böhm notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 69th match minute, Odeweg FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrad Furesi to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Eckehard Deckert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 79 played minutes Odeweg FSV got a freekick which was hit by Conrad Furesi. In the 80th match minute, Odeweg FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timo Böhm to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Tomas Illescas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal didn't even have to move. 93 minutes into the game, Eckehard Deckert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
