Monty Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 11th minute. USA's Cassius Byrne was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cornelio Cordearo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Mcdonald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelio Cordearo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Pirro, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Cordearo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match, Luciano Pirro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marco Day was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 27th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Cordearo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cornelio Cordearo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 45 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Cornelio Cordearo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Luciano Pirro made a precise shot to the right of Marco Day. USA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Pirro in the 52nd minute of play. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Ramiro Lano got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-0. 54 minutes into the match. Racing Club made a substitution. Homer Field replaced Efmamjjasond Bronco. 66 minutes into the match, Epifanio Txomin notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Austin to maneuver through the defense. Sam Campbell struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Cornelio Cordearo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Campbell in the 76th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Cornelio Cordearo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Cornelio Cordearo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Cornelio Cordearo in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the game, USA's Sam Campbell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornelio Cordearo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Eladio in the 89th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 minutes USA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Samuel Nevada who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of USA's goalie and right to Domingo Austin. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. USA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Sam Campbell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Cordearo having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Epifanio Txomin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racing Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. The Racing Club support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
