Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Carandeni Piatra Neamt's Felix Crivac got a free kick in the 17th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nechifor Poplăcean went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, Nechifor Poplăcean notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-6 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moises Fernandino to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Spelbu in the 56th minute. When Carandeni Piatra Neamt's Nechifor Poplăcean, in the 59th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. After 71 minutes of play, Carandeni Piatra Neamt's Nechifor Poplăcean made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Nechifor Poplăcean got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eric Spelbu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 78th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Nechifor Poplăcean in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
