In the 27th minute, Haroldo Weather got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Haroldo Weather took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 35 minutes, Ham Kaas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pannekoeken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ham Kaas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Haroldo Weather scored 0-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Mexico booed when Pannekoeken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Foyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Pannekoeken's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Haroldo Weather to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Leonardo Leoz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mexico and the Pannekoeken players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pannekoeken's Elbert Haar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elbert Haar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Weather in the 62nd minute of the match. Elbert Haar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 71st minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elbert Haar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elbert Haar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 77th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Weather in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elbert Haar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elbert Haar. Elbert Haar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pannekoeken had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
