The SV Klingsmoos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Berthold Bach should have stopped the shot. Berthold Bach was a little too slow when Julian Murillo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 3-0. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Henning in the 19th minute of play. Berthold Bach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Nixon came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Julian Murillo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Berthold Bach. That made the score 4-0 after 41 minutes of play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Henning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Torsten Henning struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Klingsmoos. In the 60th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Berthold Bach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 66th minute of play.
