Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Mario Fernandino started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Camilo Freixa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevie McGilvray in the 5th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Stevie McGilvray ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Freixa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17th minute, Danny Gilespie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rangers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Eduardo Fontirroig was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Danny Gilespie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Freixa was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Eduardo Fontirroig hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ron McLeish in the 38th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ron McLeish took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Danny Gilespie made a kick off. Mario Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Fairbairn having to interfere. Rangers FC's Darius Bontine pulled a muscle in his leg after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Rangers FC made a substitution. Connor Alsop replaced Darius Bontine. In the 60th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Julio Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alejandro Villa charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alejandro Villa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tim Charles during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Tim Charles hit a great ball. Alfredo Ferrant recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tim Charles was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Tim Charles hit a great ball. In the 87th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stevie McGilvray to maneuver through the defense. Bolivia's Mario Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ron McLeish recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Rangers FC booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Fernandino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danny Gilespie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 97thth minute tested the skills of Camilo Freixa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Rangers FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rangers FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
