Jaime Pardo scored 1-0 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sofoklis Patsavouras, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Jaime Pardo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sofoklis Patsavouras having to interfere. Akis Stafilas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christos Papakostopoulos's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. When Gerasimos Kipreos fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MELATES F.C.'s protests and gave Gerasimos Kipreos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MELATES F.C. getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gerasimos Kipreos hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, MELATES F.C.'s goalkeeper Sofoklis Patsavouras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. After a rather tough play, MELATES F.C.'s Gerasimos Kipreos got a free kick in the 24th minute. MELATES F.C.'s Sofoklis Patsavouras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Gerasimos Kipreos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute, Christos Papakostopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christos Papakostopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sofoklis Patsavouras made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Jaime Pardo sent off a good shot on target. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sofoklis Patsavouras having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

MELATES F.C.'s Sofoklis Patsavouras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Jaime Pardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sofoklis Patsavouras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Pardo in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sofoklis Patsavouras saved MELATES F.C. from getting behind. Raul Venegas's late challenge caught a MELATES F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raul Venegas helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paraguay! Paraguay:s Jacobo Nores showed great skill when he stopped Kleanthis Sapounelis:s penalty. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Sofoklis Patsavouras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Hector Covarrubias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Sofoklis Patsavouras didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Sofoklis Patsavouras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Primitivo Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in MELATES F.C.'s zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sofoklis Patsavouras came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sofoklis Patsavouras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Christos Papakostopoulos sent off a good shot on target. In the 98th match minute, MELATES F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Papakostopoulos to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Paraguay had played much better football throughout.
