Pirates of Black Sea's Wasyl Modrzewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wasyl Modrzewski quite easily take care of the ball. Tommy Dowrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Ahmet Rıfat Reşat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Macos Graciani hit a great ball. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Wasyl Modrzewski made a huge save. 40 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Dong Xi Jun came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Macos Graciani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirates of Black Sea the free kick. Macos Graciani hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Wasyl Modrzewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Joel Gaona, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 54 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Wasyl Modrzewski was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 59th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wasyl Modrzewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wasyl Modrzewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of the match. After 63 played minutes Pirates of Black Sea got a freekick which was hit by Abdullah İğdemir. 66 minutes into the match, Pirates of Black Sea's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Wasyl Modrzewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Işık Korhan fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pirates of Black Sea's protests and gave Işık Korhan a yellow card for diving instead.
