Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Humberto Hermon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Colin in the 20th minute of play. Omar Conrao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Gaitano, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Omar Conrao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Omar Conrao breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Domínguez AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Jairo Tino hit a great ball. A throw-in in the 31st minute of the game was made by Galsino Camino with Sven-Ove Colin as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Omar Conrao made a huge save. In the 38th match minute, Domínguez AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Karlo to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Domínguez AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Omar Conrao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Omar Conrao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of the match. Galsino Camino charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Galsino Camino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Galsino Camino kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Domínguez AFC defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Omar Conrao. The Domínguez AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Conrao should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Ove Colin, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Jairo Tino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Domínguez AFC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute, Artemio Cidro fired a really elegant long shot, but Jonathan Ferrant threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post.
