Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Danny Gilespie made the kick off and thus started the match. After 4 minutes of play, Rangers FC's Danny Gilespie made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute, Stevie McGilvray got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Darius Bontine came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Rangers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darius Bontine couldn't finish the play. After 14 minutes, Darius Bontine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rangers FC and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 14 played minutes Rangers FC got a freekick which was hit by Darius Bontine. In the 19th minute, Moises Fernandino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Rangers FC's Connor Alsop was substituted for Gary Gowan. In the 35th minute, Moises Fernandino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fergus Fairbairn. The goal made the score 2-1. Fergus Fairbairn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Moises Fernandino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 45 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Jesus Carvallo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rangers FC the free kick. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. Stevie McGilvray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. After 66 minutes of play, Rangers FC's Ron McLeish made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fergus Fairbairn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 73rd minute of play. Marco Tamayo was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Marco Tamayo got a free kick in the 76th minute. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Jesus Carvallo got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Abram Luque ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fergus Fairbairn was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Jorge Magrina. But to his dismay, Jorge Magrina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. El Salvador's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
