Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Orlando Engelaar fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Älta BK's protests and gave Orlando Engelaar a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Älta BK got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Engelaar. After 5 minutes Älta BK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Luis Andino to score against Edgar Grep in Älta BK's goal. 0-1 after 5 minutes. In the 8th match minute, Älta BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Engelaar to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Älta BK's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Edgar Grep reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Grep was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Anders Löv hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Älta BK's Edgar Grep. Edgar Grep was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Grep having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Älta BK's Nils-Emil Engman was substituted for Lars-Erik Brogren. Älta BK's Stig-Åke Alström was substituted for Anders Löv. Älta BK's Ralf Sillén was substituted for Joel Danielsson. Jim Stephansson's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Stephansson helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgar Grep. That made the score 0-3 after 65 minutes of play. 68 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Grep. Älta BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Edgar Grep didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. 74 minutes into the match, Älta BK's goalkeeper Edgar Grep had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Edgar Grep made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Älta BK's Edgar Grep got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edgar Grep was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-7. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgar Grep. That made the score 0-8 after 90 minutes of play. 93 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Edgar Grep was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 96 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sonny Ek came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador played a much better game than Älta BK and deserved their victory. The Älta BK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
