Jacobo Nores came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Jeremías SL's Benigno Sidro. But to his dismay, Benigno Sidro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 28th minute, Ambrosio Conrao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Covarrubias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romulo Ugutz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Deportivo Jeremías SL's Romulo Ugutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute, Xavier Zoido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benigno Sidro to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isidoro Boni in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 52ndth minute of the game Benigno Sidro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The throw-in from Isidoro Boni in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Xavier Zoido. In the 56th minute, Hector Covarrubias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romulo Ugutz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Aquiles Erramu's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Hector Covarrubias came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Covarrubias couldn't finish the play. Primitivo Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Deportivo Jeremías SL's Benigno Sidro got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paraguay's attentive Jaime Pardo managed to snatch the ball when Isidoro Boni made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Ugutz having to interfere. Hector Covarrubias might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romulo Ugutz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Covarrubias ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Jeremías SL's Jacobo Nores threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benigno Sidro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 91 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benigno Sidro. After 93 minutes of play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romulo Ugutz was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Paraguay fully deserved thier win.
