In the 8th match minute, Kingpins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Trulsson to maneuver through the defense. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Anthony Alvarado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guo Ke Peng's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Brendan Leblanc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 19th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brendan Leblanc saved Kingpins from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Brendan Leblanc in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickard Lundgren in the 29th minute of play. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Roger Västerstrand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute of the match, Eliseo Mina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Brendan Leblanc saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 38thth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kingpins's Brendan Leblanc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Västerstrand in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Peru's Luz Tejedor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brendan Leblanc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rickard Lundgren made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Peru's Joaquin Prats got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kingpins's goalkeeper Brendan Leblanc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 58 minutes Kingpins's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Eliseo Mina might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brendan Leblanc. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mina ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Rickard Lundgren could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Rolando Noboa however easily saved by the left post. Brendan Leblanc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Kingpins's Roger Sandström was substituted for Karl Trulsson. Kingpins's Bo Kruuse was substituted for Roger Västerstrand. In the 82nd minute of the match, Rickard Lundgren got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rolando Noboa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A hard shot 83 in the game by Bo Kruuse from a close distance when the talented Rolando Noboa managed to make a qualified save. Peru's players were relieved. The audience was convinced that Bo Kruuse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
